January Doldrums

January has not been as productive as I would like, so far. The double whammy of a sinus infection and some stomach issue I’ve had since the day before Christmas has blocked my more creative endeavors. Although I have made a lot of earrings and one pretty interesting necklace. When I get my head (and body) together, there will be lots of pics and Etsy postings…

I did some errands this morning and thought I’d show you what I got at Borders. But when I went to take a couple of quick shots, Raina and Watson got into the act:

Creative Beading is a beautiful, slick magazine from Australian and it’s the one that got me into chain making. It’s wicked expensive but worth it! And Eggsecutive Orders, the new Ollie Paras book by my Facebook pal, Julie Hyzy, came out this week. Thanks, Borders, for the 33% off coupon! Every little bit helps!

I can’t wait to delve into both these little gems. I’ve already gotten some jewelry ideas, just leafing through the magazine at the store. And if you haven’t read the White House Chef mysteries yet, run, don’t walk, to your local bookstore or library. Ollie is a great character and Julie’s writing makes you feel like you’re in the kitchen, cooking for the president!
