Christmas in July on Etsy

How Bear Chick “Sees” Things

No, it's not the Attack of the Killer Craft Monster! It's just me, with my 4 power lenses over 1.5 power lenses that I can't use for reading anymore...


I don't work with these on all the time, only when I've completed a project and want to go over it with glasses that let me see every last detail. I like to clean up the jump rings, make sure they're as tight and aligned as I can get them. And with these, I can see anything else that might not be "finished".

Bear Chick’s Facebook Fan Page

The Day Job has been busy since some folks are on vacation, so I haven’t rolled out the Bear Chick Facebook Fan Page yet. I was trying to think of a good deal to roll out the Fan Page with and lo and behold, I was reading an email from Etsy today about the Yart Sale happening next week. A Yart Sale is basically a combination of Art and Yard sale. Besides having a Yart Sale section with great deals on my jewelry and even some vintage pieces, there’ll be a special deal for my BC Fans.

The Yart Sale technically runs from June 10th to the14th but I’ll be in Palm Springs the 14th and 15th, so you get a little extra time to take advantage of my deals!

If you’re in the OC or nearby this coming Sunday, I hope you’ll come to the Celebration of the Arts in Yorba Linda. It’s really a cool event, with 100 or so artists and craftspeople, plus continuous entertainment and goodies. Etsy Lampwork Sale!

Save the Date!!

September 27 Member Sale Bead Society of Orange County!

Every September, The Bead Society has an informal sale on the veranda of the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana. Come see what our members have created this year. I’ll have my jewelry and sneak in a couple of ATC’s, too. We usually start around 10AM and go till early afternoon. Hope to see you there!

And while you’re there, plan to see the Terra Cotta Warriors. The exhibit really is amazing. Anything that’s survived over 2000 years ya gotta love! These figures feature details like strands of hair and the lacings on boots. What’s really interesting is that no clothing survives from this era and so these Warriors have provided great insight into the uses and symbolism of the uniforms and weapons of their times. And that's just one factoid among many. You won’t be disappointed!

Rummage Sale Saturday!

If you’re in north Orange County Saturday, June 28, come by the clubhouse in my community and get great deals at our rummage sale. Help me clean out my house!! Even The Husband forced himself to part with some things. You’ll notice there aren’t any pictures. That’s ‘cause the house is in total disarray, with overflowing boxes of stuff everywhere that the cats need to inspect. And nothing’s coming back in the house, either. It goes straight to Goodwill!

We have lots of purses, frames, design books, home décor, toys and a whole box of 10 cent items. Don’t know what the rest of the community will have, but I’m sure there’ll be bargains galore. The fun thing about being in the rummage sale is that I get first pickin’s on the old jewelry--strictly for art purposes, of course!
